During the rise in hot weather throughout our summer, Caring Hands took a thoughtful approach to staying hydrated and supporting our care workers by giving them filled water bottles and also handing out ice creams as a little something for them to enjoy. The initiative was more than just a practical measure—it was a heartfelt way to show appreciation for the care workers who give their all every day, even under challenging conditions.
Over the course of the summer, Maria, Karen and Katelyn visited the staff to personally hand out the water bottles and ice creams in the hot weather, whilst the staff were out working hard. Even some of the clients had an ice cream which they very much enjoyed and appreciated. Each visit was met with smiles and a sense of gratitude, as the team took time to chat with the care workers and hear about their experiences working through the intense heat.
In addition to delivering the bottles and staying hydrated, they managed to capture beautiful photos of the staff holding their new gifts with beaming faces showing just how happy they were. One care worker, moved by the gesture, emailed in later to express her appreciation saying how kind it was. The gesture didn’t just resonate with the staff but also with the clients that Maria, Karen and Katelyn saw out on the visits.
They also showed their appreciation, with one client saying “It was a wonderful idea to gift these water bottles to the care workers, who always work so hard, and it is so nice to see them being taken care of, the way they take care of us. It was even nicer that we received ice creams too”. Despite the hot weather, the care workers never faltered. Instead, they carried on with their work, delivering personal homecare, making home visits, and ensuring that each client received the attention and support they needed.
Though the heatwave has since passed, the impact of the gesture lingers. Even as the colder weather has arrived, many care workers are still using their water bottles and staying hydrated. Whether at work or on the go, the bottles have become a constant reminder of the appreciation they received. Looking ahead, Caring Hands plans to continue showing their appreciation through small gestures like this, ensuring that their staff feel supported throughout the year.
The water bottles and ice creams were just one way for us to show how much we value them, but we’re committed to continuing these acts of appreciation in the future. Whether it’s small gifts, thoughtful gestures, or other forms of support, we want our care workers to know they are the heart of this company.
At Caring Hands, we believe in showing appreciation every step of the way. If you’re passionate about a caring career with a supportive team behind you, contact us today to learn more about joining our family. Let’s make a difference together!
